President-elect Donald Trump met with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe Thursday at Trump Tower, making it the first face-to-face meeting he’s had with a foreign leader.
The momentous occasion was captured by this photograph, which has plenty of people stirring. You’ll notice Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, sitting off to the side:

Though the 34-year-old mogul is slated to run her father’s businesses with her two brothers, her presence at the meeting has people wondering why she needed to be there at all.
According to New York Magazine, Trump announced last Friday that his three eldest children would now be in charge of his business ventures, which would be put into a “blind trust,” so they wouldn’t be a conflict of interest during his presidency.
But by the looks of the now-viral photo, plenty of journalists and pundits took issue with Ivanka sitting in on the historical meeting, even though she and her siblings are on Trump’s transition team:

As Politico reports, the 90-minute meeting was well-received by both parties.
Prime Minister Abe told reporters:
“We were able to have a very candid talk over a substantial amount of time, and in a very warm atmosphere.
I renewed my conviction that together with Mr. Trump I will be able to establish a relationship of trust. As an outcome of today’s discussions, I am convinced Mr. Trump is a leader in whom I can have great confidence.”
Vice President-elect Mike Pence also reportedly joined in on the conversation toward the end of the meeting.
