The world remains in suspense as some of the world’s most powerful Navy fleets slowly steam their way toward the Korean peninsula to be ready for anything the rogue nation’s leader might be capable of.
Japan’s latest strategic military move is one we haven’t seen for some time and signals to the world exactly how serious they’re taking Kim Jong Un’s ferocious threats.
The Japanese navy is sending destroyers and other warships to join the American ‘armada’ as it steams towards the Korean peninsula, reports Reuters.
The United States initially sent the USS Carl Vinson group to the region as a symbol of strength to Kim Jong Un as he defies the US and continues to test ballistic missiles and nuclear warheads.
The Japanese navy announced Monday it is deploying two additional destroyers to join the US strike group. The Japanese deployment comes as Chinese President Xi Jinping urges all sides to ‘exercise restraint’ over the rising tensions between North Korea and the United States.
President Trump spoke with the leaders of Japan, South Korea, and China on Monday morning over recent intelligence that suggests Kim Jong Un may be planning another missile test, this time to celebrate the founding of the North Korean army on April 25.
South Korea also said it is actively considering sending its navy to join the US and Japan.
North Korea immediately fired-back at the military mobilization.
“The United States should not run amok and should consider carefully any catastrophic consequence from its foolish military provocative act,” said an official state newspaper. “What’s only laid for aggressors is dead bodies.”
